Patlow Play Reading Series at the Shipping Dock Theatre closes its 2007 – 2008 season with a staged reading of the comedy, Regrets Only by Paul Rudnick. Regrets Only is a comedy of Manhattan manners which explores the latest topics in marriage, friendships, and squandered riches. The setting is a Park Avenue penthouse. The players are a powerhouse attorney, his deliciously social wife and their closest friend, one of the world’s most staggeringly successful fashion designers. Hilariously witty...Rudnick’s script is ripe with jokes at the expense of the upper class – taking pokes at plastic surgery, designer fashion and charity functions....” Show Business Weekly Directed by Sandi Henschel. Horton Foote One-acts at Shipping Dock Playreading The Wilmer J. Patlow Playreading series, at the Shipping Dock Theatre, will present two one-acts by Horton Foote, “Blind Date” and “The Actor”, on Saturday, March 1, at 4:00 P.M.. The staged readings are free and open to the community. “Blind Date” is a touching and funny study of what befalls a well-meaning aunt when she tries to arrange a date for her visiting (and uncooperative) niece. “The Actor” is a hilarious and moving story of a young man, bitten by the acting bug, who will make any sacrifice to hold onto his dream of a theatrical career. Featured in the cast are Mark D’Annunzio, Phoebe Daniel, Colista Turner, Crescenzo Scipione, Peter Balonon-Rosen, and Susan Kwik. The readings are directed by Marcy Gamzon.
