Improvisational acting class at Shipping Dock Theatre:

The is an entry-level improv class. The focus will be on improvisational scenework. Participants will work on individual skills that can be applied to improv as well as scripted acting. This is more of an "acting" class than a "comedy" class. While we will use several different improv games and exercises, the emphasis will always be on developing core improvisational acting skills rather than on learning games and being funny.
 
 The primary instructor will be S. Michael Smith, who has been performing improv around the country for over 15 years, and is currently the artistic director of Shipping Dock Unleashed. Some individual classes or exercises may be lead by other SDU instructors.
 
Classes will be Sundays 5-7 PM, running for 10 weeks, starting Sunday, 3/30/2008. The fee is $250, which will include free passes to all SDU performances during the 10-week period.
