September 13- October 7

The Exonerated by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen

Imagine that you are wrongly convicted of a crime and sent to death row. The Exonerated chronicles the experiences of six innocent people who spent from 2 to 22 years on death row and were eventually exonerated.  Their stories take us straight into the heart of darkness and back to forgiveness and redemption.  Recipient of a Champion of Justice Award from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
“…an artfully edited anthology of interviews with six former death row prisoners…all discovered to be innocent…”  New York Times

November 30- December 23

The Magic Fire by Lillian Garrett-Groag

The world of  Evita’s  Eva Peron is the setting for The Magic Fire. A family of Italian immigrants in the Buenos Aires of the 1950’s at the time of the death of Eva Peron (some of them refugees from Nazi Austria) find themselves trapped in the fascist system of Juan Peron’s regime and take refuge in books, music, theatre and the arts.  They are forced to confront their ethical choices: morals and politics in place of art.
…”Lillian Garrett-Groag’s play…combines warm family comedy and savvy political melodrama with rare skill.”  Time Magazine

February 22 March 9 in the Rochester TheatreFest at Geva Theatre Center

Frozen by Bryony Lavery

Frozen is an extraordinary play that entwines the lives of a murderer, the mother of one of his victims and his psychologist to explore our capacity for forgiveness, remorse and change after an act that would seem to rule them out entirely.  Winner of the prestigious Barclay Award for Best New Play of 1998.
“…so concentrated and unflinching that at times it takes your breath away.”  London Observer
